
Stacia Fontenot
Dance
Stacia Fontenot is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, where she lives and loves life with her
husband, Jason, and their children, Justin, James, and Genevieve. Stacia began her training
in ballet and modern dance in Lafayette, then Houston, and finally New York City. She is a
decorated honor graduate of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston,
Texas where in 1994, she earned the title of Presidential Scholar of the Arts. This
accomplishment brought her to The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts where
she performed an original work and was presented a Presidential medal for excellence for
achieving the honor of being a National Merit Finalist in the Arts in ballet and modern dance.
Stacia received valuable technical training and performance experience with Ballet Magnificat
in Jackson, Mississippi, the City Ballet of Houston and with the Houston Ballet apprenticeship
program. She was hired as a professional with Alvin Ailey American Dance Repertory
Ensemble in New York City. She has performed in numerous dance productions in our
nation’s most prestigious venues during her tenure as a professional dancer.
Stacia has since received a bachelor and master of accountancy from Texas A&M University
and worked as an auditor and financial reporting accountant in Houston and Lafayette. She
has continued to be involved with the arts through teaching and choreography at the
Academy of Christian Arts and volunteering with the amazing artists at Wonderland. She has
co-choreographed Pure Imagination, Little Mermaid Jr., The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
and Hadestown Teed Edition productions at Wonderland. Stacia is thrilled to share her joy for
dance with the Wonderland Academy community!
